It’s been awhile since I’ve put my thoughts in a blog, but I think I’m ready to spew a little here.

Last I wrote I was on the worst down swing of my life  and was starting to get down in the dumps about it.  If you read the last post, you’d also know that I still stayed positive and was fortunate to have a great group of poker buddies standing behind me that helped with that.

Here is what the 3 months prior to May looked like for me:

As you can see it’s not really that impressive.  During that time, I was still cashing a bit and going deep (hence +avg ROI), but was just losing big hands late so I never really had a cash that could offset the downswing.  I think this downswing would be a little worse than my last big one when I had an avg BI ~ $18 and went down $3k+.  Key again in times like this is… STAYING POSITIVE & WORKING HARDER.

Here is May stats (the month before Vegas):

Now Granted it’s not a GREAT month, BUT it’s much more positive than prior months.  So, I’m considering this month the start of some great things.  I still have not beat my chinese food goal (I can’t eat it until I bink for more than $2k) even in this positive month, so I’m still waiting for my real breakout to start…

Will the breakout start this month in Vegas?  I think I would be happy if someone told me I would run bad 3 months but then run great when I got to Vegas in June. 🙂

Since I haven’t been profiting as I’d hoped and am otherwise unprepared to an extent, I won’t be able to play any WSOP events unless I satty in.  I will most likely be playing some other series in town during that time… Binions, Caesers, Golden Nugget and Venetian are all having a bunch of events.  I was also fortunate enough to sell some action (always helps) so if you are interested in buying some, feel free to hit me up and we can work something out.  I’ll be out there from the 11th-18th.

Otherwise, I’m really excited to get out there and play.  The great thing about this game is that any day could be your BIG day.  It’s what keeps the grinders grinding and the fishes swimming.  Any day in poker can be your NBA finals win.  It’s all how much it means to you, and how significant it is in your life. So keep pushing yourself to that next level and good things are bound to happen.  I’m extremely fortunate to be able to do what I love, and I think that’s all anyone really wants in life.  It’s out there, but no one is going to hand it to you…

Good luck to all the other grinders and friends out in Vegas this summer.  If you are looking to follow some of the Vegas action follow me on twitter @drewpeacoq8.
